Just The Three Of Us

Gammon didn’t plan on waking up in the same position, in a darkened room with the sound of his mate’s little snores.

When had he ever fallen asleep like that?

Withdrawing from Amaree’s arms, he noticed he was no longer inside her, but that his dick had returned to its original resting size. Creeping from the mattress, he checked the cabin for any scents that weren’t theirs. Restless, he wondered what was making him feel uneasy.

Kava’s voice entered his mind. “We’re closing in on Pawwai. You have five minutes before we enter the atmosphere.”

Gammon’s unease turned to alert as he turned and headed to the cleaners. One thing he wouldn’t do was let the master’s pets smell his mate. He had done that before—one of the many things he shouldn’t have done—but he was starving and wanted food, so he did what he could to make the master happy.

The master.

Gammon hoped he was the one who took him down, because he would revel in ripping the red bastard open and eating his heart. His liver too. The plan didn’t detail such a thing but plans had a way of getting sidetracked or evolving.

Fenock had to be on his side for this mass-killing. Hopefully, Fenock hated the Red Demon as much as Gammon did and would set things up so Gammon could be the one to taste his tainted, black-hearted blood.

Seeing his hand, he realized that not only did the scab look good, he didn’t remember seeing blood all over his hand and legs from when he’d bled all over himself and Amaree as he refused to stop the growing intimacy.

Did she clean him up?

How had he not noticed?

In the cleaner, he turned off the water, still looking at his hand, not remembering and wishing he hadn’t scrubbed off his mate’s scent. He would have been able to tell how recently she had tended to him. If she did tend to him.

His skin was wet and raw when he stepped out into the cabin, wearing a towel. Amaree sat cross-legged on a chair with a bag of hot tea on the table next to her as she skimmed past a page on her Minky pad. The mattress was as they had left it, and their clothes were still in shreds. However, the sheet was clean and a completely different color than the one they’d used before he passed out.

Clearly, the wrinkles answered his question. She had tended to him, and she did clean him up while he slept.

He had never slept heavily. Never. Confused by the mounting evidence, he cleared his throat and said, “You’re awake early.”

She sat up and shrugged.

“Did you sleep okay?” he asked, wondering why he felt like something was off, but nothing about her scent said so. Grabbing a fresh packet of clothes, he pulled them a little distance from her just to ensure that she didn’t notice that he’d scrubbed off her scent. If it were the other way around, he would be pissed.
